To be honest, I really wasn't really in the market for another sports car when my good friend Dave brought this 2002 Porsche Boxster S to my attention.  He had seen the car at MB Motorwerks, a small car lot that specializes in used European cars, and sent me a link to their web site.  Their photos (including the one above) and description of the car piqued my interest enough to make the trip to Columbus to look at it.  Needless to say I liked what I saw and bought the car.

Reading the Carfax before buying the car told me that it had several owners before me, that it had spent most of it's life in Texas or sunny California (well away from Ohio's road salt), and that it had usually been serviced at Porsche dealerships.  It did have a number of minor flaws giving me the impression that it had been cared for but not babied. The photos below were taken as soon as I brought the Boxster home to document it's condition and highlight some of the problems that needed to be addressed.

It's not a bad thing that The Boxster needs some TLC, I consider working  on my hobby cars to be one of the joys of ownership and had already done just about all the fun DIY projects on my X1/9.  Time to start again with a new project car!

The Boxster & the X shared my shop for a few months before the X found it's new home in New Jersey.  I must say I like both of these cars - a lot.  They are very different though. The X1/9 had been my fun car for 17 years so of course I'm a bit sad that it's gone but I'm excited to start Project Boxster S!
